Berlin Fashion Fashion Week

Berlin FW A/W17

Here comes with a little overdue my short-report of “Berlin Fashion Week”! Three days packed with shows at new locations like Kaufhaus Jandorf and many side events were an ideal change to the dreary everday life in Berlin. All in all a lot of inspiration and fun for fashion lovers. Read more about the shows of Sportalm, Dorothee Schumacher, Hien Le, Greenshowroom and Malaika Raiss…

SPORTALM / Beauties in rosé at Kaufhaus Jandorf

From a regional costumes producer in the past to a global player in the today’s fashion industry, SPORTALM is an Austrian brand based in Kitzbühel with a long tradition. Together with her father, Ulli Ehrlich is over 15 years the leading creative director of SPORTALM. Besides that she is the mother of 5 children, what an impressive woman!

DOROTHEE SCHUMACHER / Layering at its best

As one of the first labels in Berlin Dorothee Schumacher offers her collection directly for sale after the show. See-now-buy-now is en vogue, nobody wants to wait for months anymore to shop the runway. Schumacher calls her 12 pieces that are available in the stores her „Zeitgeist Edit“ – which fits quite well to the styles, we have seen at the show: Layering in many forms like slip dresses to turtle necks, belts over down jackets, large suit trousers, and all in all looks that are very street-style ready! Like!

HIEN LE / Pyjama party yeah!

Hien Le’s collections often have this sporty touch, like last season his tennis-inspired looks. This year he went full into skateboarding, and we see a lot of 70ies inspired skate board looks. It is the spirit of the beginning of skating, very American and casual with a classic chic. I personally am many times reminded of the pyjama trend, which is quite big right now, too.

GREENSHOWROOM/ It will last forever if you do it right. Love that!

Elegant designs and high quality on a sustainable basis – no other fashion event in Europe stands for these valuse more than Greenshowroom at Postbahnhof Berlin, where high fashion and accessories are staged stylishly. Messe Frankfurt is the organizer of Greenshowroom and Ethical Fashion Show Berlin, which is held at the same time, and completes the range of eco-fashion with street and casual wear. I personally am a big fan of all this and very proud to have this trend so big Berlin. Go Berlin, Go!

MALAIKA RAISS / my favorite show!

„The time is now“ is Malaika Raiss’s theme for autumn/winter 2017/17. She plays a lot with feminine elements like patterns and volants and combines them with maskuline and straight cuts. A very emotional show, that celebrates a certain way of new freedom: comfortable styles with a lot of charm!
